A highly engaging read. Charlotte Gill has more metaphors than a archetypal crime writer. Greystone Books did a terrible job at editing, having Americanized all the grammar.

Entertaining, and educational. World & BC history of society as well as how tree species have changed in North America & BC. Need to read again, interesting cautionary tales among the planter's stories which are amazing.

Reading Gill's book for the 2nd time. She's not just a great story teller but a professional writer. No cliches, no extra words, a joy to read her writing.

This is an interesting look at the life of a tree planter and the botany of trees & their environment, nature and our part in all of this.

This book is a mixture of facts and fiction. It is amazing really how in each sentence Gill has created images of our planet and BC in such a sadly, beautiful way...informative, poetic and full of the natural wonders

A look into work that most of us would cringe at, and be no means could endure. The details here make a lifestyle come alive. Only a treeplanter could write this book. Makes me so glad I do what I do. Cudos!
