Item Details

Police officers shot Detective Michael Bennett arrests an infamous Mexican crime lord in a deadly chase that leaves Bennett's lifelong friend Hughie McDonough dead. From jail, the prisoner vows to rain epic violence down upon New York City-and to get revenge on Michael Bennett. Judges murdered To escape the chaos, Bennett takes his ten kids and their beautiful nanny, Mary Catherine, on a much-needed vacation to his family's cabin near Newburgh, New York. But instead of the calm and happy town he remembers from growing up, they step into a nightmare worse than they could have ever imagined. Newburgh is an inferno of warring gangs, and there's little the police-or Bennett-can do to keep the children safe. Target: Michael Bennett As violence overwhelms the state, Bennett is torn between protecting his hometown and saving New York City. A partner in his investigations, federal prosecutor Tara McLellan, brings him new weapons for the battle-and an attraction that endangers his relationship with Mary Catherine. A no-holds-barred, pedal-to-the-floor, action-packed novel, I, Michael Bennett is James Patterson at his most personal and most thrilling best.

Really great book. I'm a Patterson fan all the way and this is one of his better works. But I do have to say that the best Patterson series that I have read is The Women's Murder Club series.

another book with the ending continued in next book!! hate that.

The whole Michael Bennett series is BORING, tried one a few years ago and didn't finish it...thought I would try again with "I Michael Bennett"...I am over half way through it and I am giving up. I am disappointed in James Patterson because I love the Cross books and have read them all. Maybe it's his co-writer???

A real cliff hanger, one of Patterson
and Ledwidge better works.

So weird to see a book with the main character has the same name as yourself. Weird to see your name on the cover of a book to weirddd

I have read almost everything James P. has written, and have been really entertained with all of them. This one had me on the edge of my seat in a couple of chapters and the end made me laugh. Have you ever seen him on his commercials? He has a great deadpan sense of humor and that is exactly the way I took the ending. I can see him smiling as he leaves us hanging out to dry at the end! Good, I say! That assures us more of Michael Bennett, who is a good, self-effacing guy trying to do his best to cover all his bases, just like the rest of us.

Not bad, until you get to the end. I kept turning the pages thinking that it couldn't possibly just end .....like that. You feel really set-up.

By far my fav MB book!! This story had me intrigued from start to finish. I definitely got more than expected. I like that we got to see the family more in debt, as oppose to just in passing like in the other novels. I do hope that the relationship with MC and MB progresses, for the better, a permanent thing that is. Great writing, great storyline, one of JP's best!!!

just finished reading this book, it was awesome until the end, didnt like it.

Book has too much fillers to prolong the story about a detective who put the most powerful Mexican drug lord behind bars to be tried for murders in a Manhattan court. From the other readers, apparently a setup for part II or III or IV????
