Not great history.

This was a very good movie about the black airmen that fought in WWII in Italy. They stood strong under adverse conditions as they wanted to prove to their white counterparts that they could do anything that their counterparts could do, maybe even better. They finally got their chance to prove that, even though they would lose some of their comrades in the process. It was also refreshing to see that their counterparts finally recognize them for their talents and skills in the air.

Red Tails ---- (DVD 2012) ---- Excellent tellling of the Struggle, Tuskegee Airmen Endured. ---- Top Notch! ---- Enjoy! ---- RichardPaul (finished 11-2013)

Utterly ridiculous and completely divergent from history. I truly hope that none of the real Tuskegee airmen saw this movie. The special effects are good and Lucas does get credit for that, but the plot and realism are horrible. I hope to god that future generations of African American children will skip this movie and instead pick up a book and learn of the real trials and tribulations of their elders. Don't waste your time.

The story of the Tuskeegee Airmen is a great story from history. Lucas basically ruins it with his over use of green screen, exaggeration of things that are possible, and his poor writing. The actors did the best job they could with what they were given, it's on Lucas not them. Here's a hint George, a fighter aircraft can't sink a destroyer with just machine gun fire. Some of the idiotic things Lucas did showed that he failed to understand the Tuskeegee Airmen and failed to do his research.

Semi-inspiring historical action war movie featuring the Tuskagee Airmen (black WWII fighter pilots). The acting talents of Gooding Jr. and Howard are wasted while the five or so pilot leads are underwhelming. The special effects are good, and the dogfights are entertaining, but I expected more and was disappointed. Worth watching, but go in not expecting to be blown away.

See it! Full of action, violent in the beginning and throughout, for a mature 12.9 and older. Really for 14 years and older will love it! We enjoyed it!

A fine period look and feel, and a gripping story, and very nice CGI.. There were a lot of clichés, but these guys were just ordinary joes doing heroic jobs.

Red Tails

These brave men were AMERICANS, not "African-Americans," and we should honor and be proud of them!
