Comment

Why is this 18 hours long? It hurts to watch
Just as good the second time around. Must find it for my collection.
Leave it to Disney to find a way to tell a story that consistently has a princess in it...even on MARS!!! Still was good (OK slightly above average).
I appreciated the artistry that it took to recreate a different time period and also an extraterrestrial world. Unfortunately, this was not enough; “John Carter” needed a better script. The problem with this Disney production is that it tried to appeal to both kids and adults and in the end, I believe, failed to captivate either one.
Just sit back and enjoy the ride. The closest comparison I could make to this movie would be to say it’s a lot like Avatar. The main character gets taken to a new world and has to battle good vs. evil. The main character (and the actor) is fairly charming so you don’t mind following his story. I doubt this will turn into a fan favourite like Stargate was, but if you give it a chance you will probably enjoy a couple of hours of entertainment. My family did and that was a good sign.
Great movie and faithful to the spirit of the books written 90 years ago! Try reading the books!
Took this movie out of the library to satisfy my husband's interest in the action-adventure genre and was surprised that I liked it. Granted, the the script and the acting were not anywhere near Oscar-worthy but the film was entertaining. It's a great, fun adventure to enjoy with family on a night when conventional TV offers nothing more stimulating than reruns and reality shows, Watch it! It's not bad at all.
Exceptional action movie. I was surprised and delighted that it was written by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Thoroughly enjoyable!
