A lot funnier than I expected it to be. Sure some of the humor is crude, but it isn't done in a way to really offend. The main character, despite being a crazy evil dictator, is still so silly, bumbling, and well, funny that you can't take what he says seriously anyhow.

This has some funny moments, but it uses the extremist politically correct ending to justify all the political incorrectness throughout the rest of the movie. That's much too biased a point to try to make. Again, some funny bits, but, ultimately, it's rather misandric, since, in the end, he changes everything about himself for the woman. The story uses the most outrageous male-type extremes to make this seem reasonable, but that's a pretty all-or-nothing attitude, presenting the idea that you're either a dictator (politically or otherwise) or you're willing to be totally compliant with everything the woman wants (& a VERY feminist/leftist woman at that). It might be nice for there to be a sequel, showing the two of them continuing their relationship, with her finally giving in to some of his less absolutist &/or simply more masculine needs/requests, but I don't suppose that will happen. It probably wouldn't lend itself to a lot of obvious laughs, anyway & obvious laughs are pretty much what this film is about. The basic idea had some potential, certainly, but should've been more unpredictable & balanced, perspective-wise.

"I love the smell of a woman in the morning... after we have sexy play.

Out of his three movies, I'd say I like this the best. Sacha Baron Cohen isn't doing his "fool the public" thing here, it is an actual scripted movie. That being said, you have to like his kind of humour. I really don't understand how someone could take this movie out and then complain about the arab bashing or offensive language.

Hilarious. But you have to like this type of humour. First, I watched the regular version and it seemed like some stuff was 'missing'. Then when I watched the extended version I realized why.

It wasn't as funny as I thought it was gonna be. But it had it's moments I like that Sasha Boren chooses to be controversial with his comedy.

Parts of this movie were hysterical -- had me roaring. Armpit licking wacko Sacha Baron Cohen is absolutely shameless; he's not afraid to push the envelope whatsoever. And in this age where it seems that everybody is so sensitive, and fragile, and easily offended, I admire that. I find his boldness refreshing, however incendiary. I think it's either one way or the other: you'll either totally Aladeen this movie, or completely Aladeen it. "In Loving Memory of Kim Jong-Il"... priceless.
