That is until the words pierced the immense void of space: "Houston, we have a problem." Stranded in a crippled spacecraft 205,000 miles from Earth, astronauts Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, and Jack Swigert fight a desperate battle to survive. Meanwhile, at Mission Control, astronaut Ken Mattingly, flight director Gene Kranz, and the efforts of a heroic ground crew race against time -- and the odds -- to bring the men home.

Add a CommentOne of the best films I have seen in this year. It was entertaining and interesting. Great performances a must see for all. “Truly a really great movie worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box”.
It was the seventh manned mission in the American Apollo space program and the third intended to land on the Moon. The craft was launched on April 11, 1970, but the lunar landing was aborted after an oxygen tank exploded two days later, crippling the service module upon which the Command Module depended. The crew encountered a great hardship caused by limited power, loss of cabin heat, shortage of potable water, and failure of the carbon dioxide removal system. What will happen to the astronauts? Even if you know for sure that the crew returned safely to Earth on April 17, 1970, you will be certainly fascinated and thrilled again through the struggles the crew and the staff on ground have experienced.
A good gripping realistic film.
Classic movie with lots history, exiting and thrilling.
A mix of beautifully mixed emotions to create this masterpiece.
