"The art is beautiful and the 5 stories are the best kind of unsettling." - Andrea C.

I've followed Emily Carroll's comics since I was a teenager when I first read one of her best webcomic short stories, "His Face All Red". As an on-again-off-again horror fan, I can't tell you how electrifying it was to read that comic for…

Beautifully illustrated short stories that land somewhere between horror and cautionary tales. A quick read perfect for a stormy night!

There's something special about horror short stories. Horror works best for me when most of the things that scare you are left up to your imagination. This book does a fantastic job of building atmosphere in each story without showing too…

I would not recommend this book for adults (such as myself) or older teens, esp. those who read a lot. It might be enjoyed by kids/young teens (Ages ~12-15?), but I'm not sure. The illustrations are pretty, but the stories were just…

Great artwork. The Nesting Place, the last story, is by far the best.

bone-chillingly awesome. There are so many stories and in every one of them, they somehow freak me out but have me hooked to find out more. You've got to give it a read to see what I'm talking about !!!

This book is pretty good if you just speed through all of the stories. When you finish it you'll be like, "Hey, that was pretty good." But you can only understand it completely if you savor every moment, read every word, and look at every…

Oh man, this was creepy. I'm not good with scary things and typically steer away from anything that may freak me out, but I was intrigued by this graphic novel. Plus, it's spooky season, so why not? The illustrations are really…

This book was TRIPPY! I absolutely adored this book, even though it made ZERO sense. Each chapter in this book is a different scary story. If you remember liking Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, as a child then you are going to love…

The description and images were striking, stunning. To those who sleep easily and are only entertained by horror, this book is perfect for you. To those who fear, who lay awake hearing every wail and song, seeing every cold hand, every…

This is a collection of short horror stories. It's one of my favorites that I have checked out several times and I probably just need to buy already. The art is fantastic and I think that's a majority of the reason why the stories work…

Genuinely unsettling. The stories take you just up to the edge of something really awful and leave you there, because your own imagination will always supply something worse than whatever could be put on the page.

A graphica gothic masterpiece that has to be seen to be believed. Highly recommended.

I found these stories creepy and unnerving. Even though I read them in the full sun out on my balcony, I still felt on edge as if something was going to jump out and get me. I loved every page turning bit of it.

This graphic novel of horror stories is deliciously creepy and sinister. The art is gorgeous and the stories themselves are well written. I definitely got a traditional Gothic vibe from several of these stories.

This creepy selection of disturbing old-style faerie tales will cast a bitter chill deep in your bones. But don't read it late at night because you'll start to imagine hideously deformed monsters slithering in the shadows at the end of…

A beautiful story with breathtaking art that weaves seamlessly into the stories. I devoured each story with gusto. My only complaint would be that many of the stories end on the same note of "and all was well.... OR WAS IT?!?!?!" which,…
