Nothing much to add that hasn't already been said. Great entertainment. Would love a follow up.

This was a pretty good movie that shows when Bruce Wayne first became Batman and the course of his first year. It also shows how Batman and Jim Gordon came to be allies.

I enjoyed this cartoon DVD. It is too violent for children to watch.

A thrilling adaptation of Frank Miller's classic comic book!

Ben Mackenzie, whom voices Batman now plays young Detective Gordon on "Gotham", which is heavily based on this comic.

Interesting Fact: Bryan Cranston (of Breaking Bad fame) provides the voice of Lt. Gordon.

Must See - Batman: Year One (2011) [Animated] [Direct to Video]
64 min. Great story featuring the Dark Knight....Perhaps my favorite of the animated super hero films.

I give this a 5/5. It was great to see the old Batman evolve into this, though it stayed in it's domain of it's origins. Though this wasn't all focused on Batman, commissioner Gordon's story was told wonderfully and given superb art by Frank Miller to show that Batman started off as a dark tale, not light and play full.

One of the best comic book adaptations into an animated DC movie I've seen. This is better then Planet Hulk or All-Star Superman as it stays true to the original classic graphic novel by Frank Miller. Great voice cast, topped by Bryan Cranston (from Breaking Bad) as Commissioner Gordon. Cool re-imagining of the batman origin story with superb animation, great cameos from Harvey Dent, the origins of Catwoman, etc. Keep in mind this is pretty violent so should be for young teens and up, not for younger children.
