Summary
Add a SummarySafety Not Guaranteed is about three hungry magazine writers (including the brilliant Aubrey Plaza from Parks and Rec and Jake Johnson from New Girl) who, after joking around about a funky personal ad that reads “Wanted: Someone to go back in time with me… Safety not guaranteed” decide to make the seeker the subject of their next great story. Mark Duplass plays the charmingly paranoid time traveler who might just be saner than the rest of us.

Sweet, simple movie. Interesting characters.
The laughs don’t exactly come fast and furious in Colin Trevorrow’s northwest slacker comedy, but at least the smiles come easily enough. Between Darius’ monotone mumblings, Arnau’s timid squeaks, and Jeff’s macho blustering Trevorrow finds enough situational humour to elicit a few giggles and a developing romance seems almost plausible. But the sci-fi slant comes across as a quirky add-on—the film’s underlying theme of regretting the past notwithstanding—and the final twist is more shaggy dog than resolution. Okay for a discount rental but if you pay full price you’ll probably want to go back in time and stop yourself.
This was embarrassingly bad, so amateurish that I ended up feeling sorry for all involved. I saw Mark Duplass in Your Sister's Sister and wanted to see how he did in this, and of all the actors, he was the most adequate in terms of technique, but it still wasn't enough to make me believe this poorly constructed and directed plot.
quirky little budget flick-
No pretenses to a grander vision, just a bit of fun. It's not likely to win any awards, but it's certainly worth enjoying a nice pinot grigio while watching!
A great original film by (Jurassic world director Colin Trevorrow). Totally refreshing story which you become attached to the characters.
I couldn't have enjoyed this more. Quirky, warm & intelligent. I'll be surprised if this doesn't turn into a cult classic.
Up to the very end, I was hoping for a logical explanation.
Quirky; engaging; fun. Worth watching.
Fun movie worth watching. Storyline is odd and off the beaten track though it works for good entertainment. I enjoyed the acting.
