A mediocre story wrapped in terrific CGI.

I love Luc Besson but this was a little slow to start. It definitely highlights the portions of the comic that George Lucas borrowed for Star Wars, but I found this world much more interesting. I wish I had liked it more. The comics are iconic. Besson is a genius. But this was a little clunky.

The book was followed pretty well.
Extremely slow beginning.Visual effects helped the movie. The best part was the little converter creatures.

Kind of a mess, but a pretty one!

For SciFi fans and folks who love the source material this is pretty good. If you can get through the first awkward encounter with the two leads, it does get much better. The movie is visually spectacular and contrary to another reviewer, of course you should have Rihanna in your SciFi movie!

I really enjoy this movie. Good characterizations, awesome effects, and good balance of action. Starts a little slow, but considering they have to introduce the watcher to the intricate world that is understandable. If you like the movie, try checking out the anime series, which is enjoyable.

Great graphics and special effects.
Not a great movie, but was enjoyable to watch and I definitely would watch a part two.

It started off slow but as the movie went on, it started to become more interesting and captivating. It was a good movie with a decent storyline and the right amount of comedy, made better by the actors in the movie.
