It is a sci-fi adventurous globetrotting war between the Flying Legion led by Sky Captain Joe and a mad scientist’s robot army. Throw in a fearless reporter Polly and one manly British "flying aircraft carrier" commander Franky, it became a love story. From the extras, learned the actors performed the entire movie in front of blue screens inside studios. The magical fantasy came from the director and CG animators who blended and stylized those ace actors with CG surrounding with the exception of the interior of Radio City Music Hall per wiki. Entertaining with memorable dialogues.

Decent visuals effects, but the whole story is spoiled by the 2 female leads, Jolie and Paltrow.

Cool story of the "Sky Captain" and his efforts to thwart a mysterious mechanical army from conquering the world. The photography seems so art-deco (stylishly) my the plot is entirely modern and all the players dress and act is a such a film noire fashion. It's pretty cool.

"Sky Captain" - Yesterday's World of Tomorrow, Today!_____If nothing else, I think that the "ice queen", Angelina Jolie, was perfectly cast as the one-eyed, butch-dyke Air Force commander, Captain "Frankie" Cook._____ But, with that said - By the time that Angelina made her royal entrance in Sky Captain (at about the half-way point), this film had already begun to seriously lose its direction. And, before long, it finally did exactly what was expected - It completely collapsed under the sheer weight of its own ridiculous excessiveness._____ Perhaps Sky Captain could've been rescued from a disastrously disappointing 2.5 star rating had about a good half hour been cut from its running time. But, who knows?

One of the things i love most about movies is sound and visuals. This movie gave me both. Two of the main reasons why you should watch this on your HOMETHEATER!!! The visuals are absolutely stunning. I love the look of the film and the sounds were OFF THE HOOK. One of my favorite scenes for sound is when the giant flying robots attack the city. Listening and feeling these huge robots destroy buildings as they walk through the city sounds amazing. Your subwoofer will have your floors and walls shaking during this scene. And that's just the beginning of some incredible sounds this movie contains. It "Sound Freak" approved. I also enjoyed the characters and the story. I especially liked Anjelina Jolie, with her one eye patch as the commander of a huge flying platform in the sky. The attack on the flying platform from the underwater ships below is cool. I especially liked when the planes from the flying platform took off and counter attacked by going underwater. That scene was very cool. The visuals of the planes batteling underwater is very nice and has good sounds from the missles hitting their target. I'm giving this movie 5 stars!!!! Amazing visuals, audio, cool characters, and a pretty good story. One large steak, a baked potato, corn on the cob, white rice, and corn bread. A large bag of Wise potato chips, Utz butterd popcorn, and Arizona ice tea.

It was O.K for a home movie.. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box.

Tons posted in IMDb. Here is one of the many good lines:

Joe 'Sky Captain' Sullivan: What are you doing? You honestly think you're gonna find something more important than every single creature on Earth being led two by two inside a giant rocket ship?
Polly Perkins: I might.
Joe 'Sky Captain' Sullivan: Like what?
Polly Perkins: I'll know when I see it!
