"Agatha Christie's detective solves complex cases with flair and finesse in these four feature-length mysteries from the hit series. Set amid the unparalleded elegance of the Art Deco era, these beautifully remastered adaptations star David Suchet as Poirot, Hugh Fraser as Captain Hastings, Philip Jackson as Chief Inspector Japp, and Pauline Moran as Miss Lemon." -- container.

Well-produced, analytical puzzles that will appeal to people who like slow-paced sleuthing/detective work. Lots of red herrings and that kind of tasteful, upper-class biased, U.K. murder style set in gorgeous, pre-WWII rolling estates. Subtle funny moments--Poirot recoils from "the slurry" of English salmon paste and is ever so insistent he is Belgian, not French. Note: occasional use of untranslated French loan words.

I prefer the episodes that have all the main characters Poirot, Japp, Miss Lemon and Hastings.

Poirot Series 9 definitely misses the lightheartedness and likeability of Hastings, Inspector Japp and Miss Lemmon. What amazes me how everyone accepts the dead bodies in each of the episodes. And Miss Christie herself seems to completely ignore than gun shots, stabs to the neck, leave copies amounts of blood. Where the Christie programs shine is depicting the utter separation and entitlement of the upper class from the lower class. You would think the victim should be revived if only to apologize for upsetting the boring routine of the wealthy person's daily life. A bit of the "How dare you get yourself murdered on my property! Don't you know this is tea time?".
