Madness, serial killer, religious fanatics, good historical details.

The fourth in the Shardlake series and perhaps the most complex. Revelation is about religion and twisted psyches and is a compelling read. A serial killer is loose at a time when Henry VIII's England is already torn between Catholics, Protestants, reformists, and a king who is asserting his right to be Head of the Church of England. Thomas Seymour and Catherine Parr make their presence felt in this book and this time the author focuses on developing the familiar characters -- Jack, Tamasin and Guy of Malton are developed with more detail and the reader becomes more involved in their lives. Great read!

Another fascinating mystery from the time of Henry VIII. Cannot wait for the next one.
