*Some spoilers* Crazy whacked out idea but I loved the wild ride of reading this story. So many twists and unexpected revelations in the book. The main character is trying to find answers to who the good guys are and what has happened to his world as we try to figure it all out with him. It is set in the future where mankind needs saving from a horrible disaster that has turned humans into monsters. Now scientists use children to figure out how to save the human race. Great book!
Thomas wakes up with no memory except his first name,Thomas, of his previous life in a elevator. He finds himself living in the glade and trying to escape the maze. Then, a girl comes up from the box holding a note saying that she was the last one ever, and they find out how to get out of the maze. When they get to the Griever Hole, they have to kill grievers and then they deactivate the maze. They get to the creators, and find out there is a disease called the "flare" in the real world that kills people and turns them into zombie looking people before they die. then the story ends at the boys resting in a house not infected by the "flare".
Thomas arrives in an elevator and still does not know his name. He is shown around and is told the rules. He gets in a fight on his first day and remembers his name. He is told he needs a job and says he wants to be a runner. After Rule 3 was to not go into the maze was broken by Thomas they debated banishing him, but he did so well that he became part of the runners. It is Thomas and Minho's job to find a way out of the moving maze and not get everyone killed. Can Thomas save his people?
Maze Runner by James Dashner, is a thrilling story about life in the future after Earth has been struck by sun flares and a disease called ‘the flare.’ When Thomas finds himself in “the box,” with no memory of his life except his name, he realises he’s no ordinary individual and he’ll need all the help he can get if he’s going to escape the concrete maze that surrounds him.
He thought it was just a dream at first, but he never woke up. Thomas is stuck in a life sized maze with only one way in and one way out. Just as he was beginning to get used to it a new girl shows up. This would't be a problem but you see she is the only girl. After that things began to get weird so Thomas and any friends he has must find a way out before it's to late.
This book is about some teenagers who wake up and find themselves in a maze and when they get there, they can't remember anything except their name. Anytime they try to escape the get attacked by some scary animals. They lost all hope until a boy named thomas arrives.
Sexual Content: Please, there is no Sexual content or Romance in this book. The only things that comes close to it, is holding hands. And if you think that counts as Sexual content you are not from this generation. :P
Frightening or Intense Scenes: This book is very intense, and sometimes scary. Violent at times, but no where near as gruesome as the hunger games.
Frightening or Intense Scenes: Kinda creepy scenes, some violence. And NO there's NOT any romance. AT ALL.
Violence: Just a bit of violence but not to much it was a perfect amount of violence. Someone below said there is a lot of romance but there is none.
Frightening or Intense Scenes: There are some creepy scenes throughout the book, and a traumatic back story but it just adds to the intensity of the story. Definatley not for those who get sad easily.
Violence: I was surprised about the amount of violence in this novel, but I enjoyed the story regardless.
Other: There are also disturbing scenes in this book they can make you feel uneasy and uncomfortable.
