"In this heartwarming comedy, minor leaguer Carlton Garrett must track down his estranged father, legendary pro-athlete Kyle Garrett, when Carlton's mother becomes sick. Knowing his father's likelihood to disappoint, Carlton enlists his ex-girlfriend Lucy for emotional support. Years of miscommunication, frustration and comically awkward attempts at bonding come to a head as the mismatched trio make their way home from Ohio back to Houston to reunite their family."--Container.

Fair - The Open Road (2009) 90 min. Jeff Bridges appeared in four films in 2009; the first being “The Open Road” and the last is the critically acclaimed “Crazy Heart”. Justin Timberlake, who plays Bridges’ son, is no match for Jeff Bridges. He’s completely shadowed by the seasoned professional. Having said that, the film fails to engage the viewer as we learn more and more about why the relationship between father and son had deteriorated over the years.
