I loved this book! I rarely enjoy novels where the main genre is fantasy because I feel the content is either under or overly detailed. With Illusions of Fate, Kiersten White did an excellent job balancing the content so you understood the story, but weren’t bored. The plot of this story was something I extremely enjoyed. The magic is something you can feel while reading. I loved the hints of mystery and suspense in the story which added to shocking and interesting moments in the book. I’m amazed that Kiersten White was able to add the concept of racism into this story and the characters lives. Having Jessamin be a different race (darker) than the people where she lived added a sense of realism and sparks a connection between the story and reader. But, my favourite feature of this story has to be the romance. It’s just so cute! Finn is the perfect love interest for this protagonist. Imperfect yet amazing, anyone who readers this book is bound to fall in love with him. If you enjoy Cassandra Clare novels, you’re sure to love this one too. Pick up this story fast because you're missing out on a fantastic read! Rating: 4/5 - @shesareader of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
