I loved Nancy Drew as a child, and decided to reread them. This title was my favourite, and having reread it, it remains one of her best. Criticism has been launched in the disrespect shown towards native burial grounds, but one must remember the social environment when this book was written. We see similar attitudes in The Brass Bound Trunk and the Crossword Cipher when Nancy's mystery brings her to South America and the cultural millieu she finds there.
