Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is a surprisingly sublime movie surrounding two teenagers - Nick and Norah (Michael Cera and Kat Jennings, respectively), both down on their luck due to broken hearts - as they search for Norah's drunk friend who has ran off and is alone in New York City. Meanwhile, they and Nick's band search for their favourite band's secret performance. Sollett devised a fantastic ensemble; even Cera, who is admittedly not my favourite actor, gives a wonderful performance as the awkward and longing Nick. Standouts include Ari Graynor, who is absolutely hilarious as Caroline, the aforementioned drunk friend, and Jonathan B. Wright (of Spring Awakening fame) as the sullen Lethario. The aesthetically pleasing and realistic film is a heartwarming but edgy watch, perfect for Friday nights with friends. - @reallylikesmusicals of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
