Originally released as a motion picture in 1939 based on the novel by Emily Brontë, this classic film depicts only sixteen of the novel's thirty-four chapters, eliminating the second generation of characters. However, this drama retains all of the grim, heartbreaking and tear-jerking drama of the book. In any case, this brilliant screen version of the Brontë novel appears like one of the most distinguished and finest pictures in the love story genre.
